So You Think You Can Dance
I am extremely proud of the success So You Think You Can Dance has become over the past 10 years. Against all odds, we launched a hit in the U.S. and I am thrilled we spread the celebration of dance around the world. But my greatest accomplishment is the version we launched here in the Benelux on RTL5 and VTM.
The Netherlands and Belgium have embraced SYTYCD beyond my wildest dreams. It has been an absolute privilege to experience the level of talent, desire and passion the dancers bring to the stage day after day, week after week, year after year. And it has been wonderful getting to know our dedicated fans.
Our Belgium fans are still drinking up the talent and excitement that the show brings, and I love it. Unfortunately, because of scheduling challenges during the first half of the season, the same can’t be said in the Netherlands. The hardcore fans were still there, searching for clips and results on social media when SYTYCD was airing in Belgium, and then watching the full show three days later. I love you you guys for your support and dedication. Thank you!
I firmly believe this great show, this strong format, could have gone on for another ten years, but because of things beyond my control, that may not be the case. But we do have six more live shows to go this season, and I am as excited, dedicated, and passionate as I’ve ever been. So dancers, keep working, keep fighting, and keep dreaming. Our fans deserve it!
Speaking of working, fighting and dreaming, I have always been clear how impressed I am with the Benelux dance talent. It’s time to put my money where my mouth is. So later this month, I will be announcing my new project. It will give the very best Benelux dancers I have seen a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I was just waiting for the right moment. That moment has arrived. I could not be more fired up! Stay tuned.
